Buffalo police seek public’s help in locating missing teen

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 16-year-old Janaisha L. Rice. Janaisha, a black female, is approximately 5’6″ tall, weighs 150 pounds, has brown hair, brown eyes and a light complexion.

She was last seen wearing blue denim shorts, a pink or red top, and sneakers. Her last known location was the 100 block of E. Amherst Street on June 17, 2024.

Anyone with information about Janaisha’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.

  • Maryland State Police seek help locating fugitive murder suspect

    SALISBURY, MARYLAND – Maryland State Police are actively seeking the public’s assistance in searching for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that occurred in Wicomico County last month. The suspect, identified as Fernando Medina-Moreta, 27, of Seaford, Delaware, is wanted in connection with the murder of Franklin Abraham Perez Rodriguez, 23, of Miami, Florida.

    The incident occurred in the early hours of June 9, around 2:30 a.m., when Salisbury police officers were called to the 700 block of E. Naylor Mill Road for a reported shooting. Preliminary findings suggest a physical altercation took place between Rodriguez and Medina-Moreta, during which Medina-Moreta allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Rodriguez. After the shooting, Medina-Moreta fled the scene.

    Rodriguez was then rushed to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The investigation, initially led by Salisbury police, was transferred to Maryland State Police homicide detectives. Medina-Moreta is considered armed and dangerous.

    Authorities are urging anyone with information about Medina-Moreta’s whereabouts to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation and to help bring justice to the victim.
