Almost 2 months later, a Tifton boy hit by an SUV is released from the local hospital

TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) – A 5-year-old who was seriously injured in a collision with an SUV in April is expected to be released from the hospital before the end of June.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Isaiah Silva was walking home from Len Lastinger Elementary School in Tifton on April 23 when he was hit by a car. He has been hospitalized ever since and was even placed in an induced coma to recover.

In an update from Silva’s family on Wednesday, June 19, they told WALB that he is expected to leave the hospital on June 26. He is also thankfully mobile again and his tracheostomy is being closed.

A family member sent a message to WALB saying, “My nephew Little Spider-Man is doing so well!!! He is really giving it his all lately! (…) God has a plan for all of us and we are thankful that everyone is reaching out and praying for us!”
