Vice President Harris comes to Atlanta for several events in the city

Vice President Kamala Harris will arrive in Atlanta Friday morning for several events she will attend in the city.

Representatives for Harris said she would attend a downtown event with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and City Councilwoman Collier Overstreet as part of the vice president’s campaign with President Joe Biden for re-election, this time focusing on the senior community.

According to the event notice, the morning event will kick off Seniors for Biden and see Harris push back against recent comments the campaign called former President Donald Trump’s attacks on Social Security and health insurance.

Later today, Harris will participate in part of the 38th annual 100 Black Men of America conference as part of his National Economic Opportunity Tour, which will include a moderated conversation during the conference.

As previously reported Channel 2 Action NewsHarris will return to Atlanta early next week with rapper Quavo to discuss gun violence prevention at the Rocket Foundation’s first summit.
