Hounds & Hops offers free spa treatments to all dogs adopted from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter

Everyone who adopts a dog from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter will now receive a certificate for a dog spa treatment at Seneca One Groomer.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — When a dog is adopted from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, it’s a new beginning.

Now, thanks to Hounds & Hops inside Seneca One, they can make the best impression possible.

“Every dog adopted here from the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter will receive a green ticket in your adoption file that you can come and exchange for a free spa day,” said Jarod Miller, co-founder of Hounds & Hops. said. “So what that includes is not just a full bath, but also a spa treatment, a hot oil treatment, nail trimming, all those things that not only contribute to the health of your new dog, but also make him very happy, and very happy.” relaxed.”

Volunteer Lorraine Maxwell says every little bit helps encourage adoptions.

“It’s just great to have a partner like this, and we have many in the community that just share our name, share where we are, share the dogs that are at the shelter and give to the adopters who adopt to the shelter somewhere to bring their dog to be groomed,” she told 2 On Your Side.

The program grew out of an ongoing partnership between Hounds & Hops and the shelter, who team up once a week for a dog meet-and-greet called the Seneca Star program.

“We started about 15 weeks ago, and once a week we bring in a dog from the shelter, give it a spa treatment, and then invite everyone to come for Yappy Hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays,” Miller said. “Honestly, we’ve been 15 years since we started, and dogs through our Seneca Star program can spend weeks, months at the shelter. We’ve adopted dogs in 24 hours, in 24 minutes, and one dog in particular in less than 24 hours.

All this shows the importance of always putting your best foot forward.

“That little extra care and that little extra care, not only for people’s dogs at home, but especially for dogs finding their new home, it just gives them a good start,” Miller said. “We call this the Welcome Home Spa Package, because you welcome them into your home and what better way to start your new life than with a nice bath and a very relaxing spa treatment.”
