Braves vs Padres Lineups: Sean Murphy back behind the plate

The Braves are settling into roughly the same lineup as yesterday, just swapping out the catchers ahead of Reynaldo Lopez. I’m not entirely sure why Duvall in particular is ahead of Murphy (or d’Arnaud even) in the lineup. The catchers also seem like a better option than Rosario, but at least Eddie carries the logic of spreading out left-handed hitters in the lineup. The Braves’ lineup will face a quality starter for the Padres in Dylan Cease, who has been good but unlucky this season. Read more about the pitching matchup in the game preview here.

Meanwhile, the Padres are giving a few guys days off in their lineup, as Xander Bogaerts and Ha-Seong Kim get swapped out for Donovan Solano and Tyler Wade, respectively. It’s a bit of a break for Atlanta not having to face those guys, as it really takes some punch out of the San Diego lineup, even as Bogaerts is having a wretched season at the plate.

Today’s game starts at 7:15 PM ET in San Diego, broadcast on FOX.
