Houston Astros receive two major injury updates

The Houston Astros have been dealt a brutal hand when it comes to injuries.

It seems like just when they’re figuring out how to play after losing one player, another goes down.

Hopefully the team will receive some good injury news before the weekend.

According to a report from Chandler Rome of Athleticism, Kyle Tucker could return this weekend. However, he will not be ready to play on Friday.

He also indicated that catcher Yainer Diaz could be ready to play in Friday’s game against the Detroit Tigers.

Diaz’s return would be a big plus for the Astros. He’s had an impressive season so far, with a slash line of .257/.283/.408. During the year, he hit seven home runs and 33 RBIs.

Even if Tucker is unable to play, the 25-year-old receiver would provide a nice boost.

As for Tucker, the 27-year-old outfielder and designated hitter has been an integral part of Houston’s lineup for a long time. Getting it back is the key to having a chance of getting back into the competition.

Tucker hit .266/.395/.584 this season to go along with 17 homers and 40 RBIs. These numbers show just how big of an impact he has on the Astros offense.

Both players appear poised to return, which is great news for the franchise. They will need to be as close to full power as possible. Right now, Houston is just 31-37.
