Houston Lands Elite 2026 ATH Keisean Henderson

Houston football is off to a great start to its 2026 recruiting class after landing elite athlete Keisean Henderson among several other offers.

Henderson, listed at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, is ranked No. 1 ATH and No. 19 overall in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports.

The Cougars earned Henderson’s commitment from several of the nation’s top recruiting programs, such as Oklahoma, LSU, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M and Oregon.

Although Henderson is a high-level two-way athlete, he is expected to play quarterback at the next level and is a crucial recruiting win for Willie Fritz and the Coogs.

“It’s a big family there,” Henderson told 247Sports. “I can stay at home. All the coaches there were already recruiting me from the schools they were at before. I have a great relationship with Coach Fritz and Coach Bell.

“Coach Bell approached me about joining Baylor and gave me the first opportunity to play quarterback,” Henderson continued. “Coach Fritz and I also have a great relationship. My head coach, funny story, Coach Fritz was actually the first person to put him on the map when they were at Blinn. Seeing how he treated my coach, Coach Bishop, in the past really meant a lot to me.

In an assessment in early April, 247Sports analyst Gabe Brooks praised the Houston (TX) product, saying he could project as an NFL pick at multiple positions in the future.

“Tall, wiry, athletic multi-position athlete who could play high-level football as a quarterback, receiver or in the secondary. More speed generating than Twitchy Burner, which supports test data, but fast enough in the field for any of the aforementioned. Shows encouraging redirection speed in the pads for a longer leverage build. Raw but talented as a passer. He displays impressive short to intermediate speed and required downfield arm strength which should only enhance the force capacity given in the frame. The physical and athletic traits make for a particularly unique and interesting prospect if QB is his long-term home. Also competes in track and field and eclipsed 22 feet in the long jump while only a sophomore. He will need to gain mass/strength and refine technical nuances regardless of alignment, but represents an ultra-talented high school football player with high potential to develop as a skilled player on both sides of the ball, with the ability to becoming a rare QB prospect. given the fusion of setting/athletics/playmaking attributes. A long-term trajectory at just about any of the potential positions could lead to consideration of the NFL Draft.

As the only player in Houston’s 2026 class, Henderson gives UH the No. 11 class in the country at this point. While there’s still plenty of time between now and signing day for 2026, it’s a near-perfect start for the Cougars.
