NWS weather warning issued for greater Milwaukee

“Seek shelter in a sturdy building,” the National Weather Service advised.

MILWAUKEE – The National Weather Service has issued a special weather warning for the Milwaukee metropolitan area and parts of the north.

Residents can expect wind speeds of up to 80 km/h. Hailstones up to half an inch in size are possible.

Friday: Showers likely before 1pm, then showers and possible thunderstorms likely between 1pm and 2pm, isolated showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, high around 24°C. Southeast wind 16 to 24 km/h. Chance of precipitation 60%. New precipitation amounts between 0.35 and 1.32 cm possible.

Friday night: Showers and possible thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then isolated showers and thunderstorms between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Low around 52. South wind around 10 mph, becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation 80%. New precipitation amounts between 0.25 and 0.5 inches possible.

Saturday: Sunny, high around 73. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind around 5 mph becoming lighter in the evening.

Sunday: Showers before 10 a.m., showers and a thunderstorm between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., showers and a possible thunderstorm after 1 p.m. High around 68. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 80%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Sunday Night: Showers are likely before 1 a.m. and possibly a thunderstorm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a chance of showers after 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. South wind around 10 mph, becoming west wind after midnight. Chance of precipitation 70%. Nine precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, with higher amounts possible except in thunderstorms.
