Investigation continues after shooting of person on Nahant Beach – Boston 25 News

NAHANT, Mass. – The investigation continues Thursday morning into a shooting on Nahant Beach that sent one person to the hospital.

State police said the shooting happened at the beach entrance around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The shooting victim was taken to a Boston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were apparently focusing on a white Chevy Traverse SUV and in particular the driver’s side window that had been shot out.

Boston 25 cameras captured glass scattered across the floor of a parking lot and a wheelchair next to the car.

One woman said she thought she heard fireworks, but they turned out to be gunshots.

“It’s crazy. It’s really crazy, especially when you’re having a good night at the beach. It’s a warm night and it’s really sad,” Monica Lee said.

Police said they were questioning a man matching the description of a suspect, but no arrest had been made so far.

Wednesday was the warmest day of the season and many people flocked to the beach.
