Police are looking for the suspect in an alleged attempted robbery

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Laredo Police are searching for a person in connection with an alleged robbery attempt at a local pawn shop on the city’s west side.

According to police, this happened on Saturday around 7:20 p.m. in the 3400 block of San Bernardo. We’re told a male suspect came in carrying a backpack and armed with pepper spray, which he allegedly used on two employees. There were two customers in the store at the time.

According to police, the suspect failed to steal anything and fled after spraying the employees. He is described as tall and thin, wearing a blue sweater and black sweatpants.

The suspect managed to cross I-35 and enter the Saunders neighborhoods. As of Saturday, September 28, the suspect was still at large.

If arrested, the suspect faces two charges of aggravated assault.
