Portage County man charged with raping 9-day-old girl bail set at $10 million

PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A judge has set bail at $10 million for a northeast Ohio man charged with the alleged rape of a newborn, court records show.

According to Portage County court records, 27-year-old Steven Ferguson is accused of having sexual contact with the nine-day-old girl on or about August 3.

According to court records, he is also accused of causing or attempting to harm a 29-year-old woman, who may be a family or household member.

A Portage County grand jury decided on August 8 to indict the man on charges of rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse and domestic violence.

Ferguson will appear in court again on September 10 for a status hearing.
