Erie County early voting exceeds 1,000

The ninth and final day of early voting Sunday for Erie County’s June 25 primary election brought the overall total to more than 1,000, Election Commissioners Ralph M. Mohr and Jeremy J. Zellner announced.

The nine-day count was 1,031, with 113 ballots cast Sunday. The overall total included 979 Republicans, 34 conservatives and 18 Democrats.

Regular polling locations in Erie County will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Commissioners noted that the usual number of polling places for Primary Day will be reduced from 301 to 74 because there is no countywide contest.

There is a Republican primary in the 147th Assembly District, which includes most of Wyoming’s Southtowns and County, Republican municipal justice contests in the towns of Collins and North Collins, a conservative municipal justice race in Collins and a number of seats to be decided. on the county committees of the Democratic, Republican and Conservative parties.

For polling location locations and eligibility to vote in this primary, call 716-858-8891 or visit Elections.erie.gov/VSearch2 and select “View Your Sample Ballot.” Voters without a primary will see a message to that effect, commissioners said.
