Police ask for help in solving Opelousas murder 2023

OPELUSAS, Louisiana (KLFY) — Opelousas Police are asking for your help in solving a 2023 Murder near a school.

On January 16, 2023, Kiare Vallian was shot multiple times and later died in hospital.

Opelousas Police were called to a report of a shooting at 204 Elementary Lane, directly across from Opelousas Junior High School.

Upon arrival, officers discovered approximately 24 shell casings from at least three different firearms leading from Market Street to the rear of the home. Officers noticed a black Toyota Camry, owned by Vallian, that had been struck multiple times by gunfire.

Vallian was found in the apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries 11 days later.
