Riverside student arrested after shooting

School District investigators have made an arrest in connection with an airsoft gun incident that occurred after 5 p.m. last night during cross country practice in Riverside.

The incident occurred while the team members were training at East Riverside Park. At least one student was hit by a pellet from an airsoft gun. The student is fortunately OK.

This morning, school district investigators followed up on a tip that led them to identify one of the suspects involved: a student at Riverside High School. The identity of that person is not being released because of his age of 16. Investigators have not yet determined a motive for the shooting and are still investigating whether anyone else was involved.
