Hope Mehlman Joins Ally as Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs

An accomplished business leader and legal expert will lead a new legal and corporate affairs office within the company.

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, September 9, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Ally Financial Inc. (NYSE: ALLY) today announced Hope Mehlman Mehlman will join the company as Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer, effective December 2, 2024. Mehlman will lead a new Office of Legal and Corporate Affairs that will oversee all regulatory and legal matters. She will be responsible for the organization’s legal, compliance, government relations, environmental sustainability and community reinvestment teams.

Mehlman brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in retail and commercial banking, most recently as Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Discover. Prior to Discover, she served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Bank of the West, and Corporate Secretary of BNP Paribas. USAand Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretary, Chief Governance Officer and Deputy General Counsel of Regions Financial, where she also served as Chief Compliance Officer.

Mehlman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell Universitya Juris Doctor of Seton Hall University Faculty of Law and Masters in Tax Law New York University School of Law.
