Shingletown, California. – Alexander Miller Zagarino, 31, of Oakland was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 44 in Shingletown Saturday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the car crash was reported around 7:45 p.m. on August 10 on State Route 44 west of Ally Gold Way.

Zagarino was driving a Nissan Frontier westbound on the highway when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the double yellow line and struck an eastbound GMC Sierra truck, resulting in a head-on collision.

Zagarino was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were two passengers in the truck, 43-year-old Thomas Stewart and 38-year-old Jennifer Stewart. Both were taken to Mercy Medical Center with minor to serious injuries.

No further information about the collision was available.

The crash is being investigated.
