Louisiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Clinton

CLINTON, La. (WAFB) – Louisiana State Police investigators were asked by the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate an officer-involved shooting.

According to officials, the shooting occurred around 7:40 p.m. on May 12 in the 11000 block of Oakwood Lane in Clinton.

EFPSO said they were responding to a disturbance call when a deputy was confronted by subject Zachary Williams. Officials say Williams pointed an AR-style rifle at the deputy and the deputy shot him.

EMS was dispatched and Williams was taken to a local hospital. Officials said no officers were injured.
