Families mourn after losing two children in UTV accident

Families mourn after losing two children in UTV accident

Both sides of an Oklahoma family are mourning the loss of two children following a UTV accident on June 30.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, at an ATV park near Norman. Two-year-old RJ and eight-month-old Legend were riding the UTV with their mother and partner. Authorities say the vehicle entered a deep zone and eventually became completely submerged underwater.

Legend died the day of the incident and RJ died on July 2 after being placed on life support.

According to OHP, the children were sitting in approved car seats and were securely buckled in.

The father’s side of the family says they did not agree with the children being taken on the UTV.

Both families have opened GoFundMe accounts to raise money for the funeral and cremation costs, respectively, and to ask the public for prayers and support.
