The voters we spoke with are interested in the issues, but they are also eager to see how the candidates perform and how successful the debate will be overall.

According to a recent Associated Press poll, about 60 percent of Americans plan to watch the debate in some way.

One voter told FOX 5 Atlanta, “Voting is important to me, so I try to stay as informed as possible, even if I’m not particularly enthusiastic.” »

This sentiment is common, as the same poll shows that about 3 in 10 people are unhappy with both of their party’s candidates. However, voters still believe it is important to follow the debate.

“We have to work with what we have, so I have to see what each candidate offers,” one voter said.

For those who have not yet made up their minds, the debate could influence their decisions, particularly on key issues such as inflation.

One resident said, “I would like to hear them talk about the disconnect between politicians, extremely wealthy Americans and the average person. Rising costs in areas like Atlanta are a real concern.
