5 recent Buffalo Bills additions already on the chopping block in 2024

Brandon Beane has worked hard this offseason to rebuild several aspects of the Buffalo Bills roster. Through free agency, trades and the draft, the Bills roster will look more different than what we’ve seen in recent years, potentially two new starting safeties and new depth along the defensive front and linebackers. On the offensive end, only one wide receiver on the roster caught a regular-season pass from Josh Allen. Several new receivers were signed via free agency, along with the addition of top pick Keon Coleman. But not all of these players will make the 53-man roster. Some will be added to the practice squad, while others will be cut.

Of the 90 players, only 53 will make the list. 16 more will be added to the practice squad, and it’s possible Beane signs another free agent or two, maybe he’ll pull off another trade. Time will tell, but we have five players who could already be eliminated candidates.

Will Clapp – Center

When the Bills drafted Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, Will Clapp’s chances of making the Bills roster took a hit. With Connor McGovern at center and Van Pran-Granger, there isn’t much room left for Clapp on the 53-man roster. I see him getting cut and possibly added to the team’s practice squad. Last season with the Chargers, he logged 702 snaps, committing just one penalty and allowing one sack. However, the PFF grades were not kind, earning a total of 56.7.
