Hi ! Invite the taste of Italy into your home with these inexpensive wines

Houston – It’s no secret that Italy’s diverse wine regions offer a rich tapestry of flavors and experiences. It’s also no secret that Italy is a great place to vacation. It is one of the top travel destinations this summer.

But if you can’t book a flight to Italy, why not take a…wine flight! Wine and travel expert Daniela Garrido joined us again to give us a mini tour of Italy. And she started with something classic and sparkling

For spritz lovers

she recommends the Riunite Lambrusco Spritz. Garrido says the aperitif is his favorite drink. Something to enjoy after a long day of work. Using Riunite Lambrusco, a long-time staple, you can pour it over ice and garnish with a slice of rosemary or orange. You can also mix it with Maschio prosecco and make the Lambrusco Spritz like Derrick and Tessa enjoyed on the show.

For prosecco lovers

If you’re looking for something fancier than a glass of wine, Garrido says Lamberti Prosecco offers a light and fresh sparkling option. We find notes of candied lemon, white peach and yellow apple. Priced under $20, it’s a no-brainer for your summer get-together.

For the white wine lover

Legend has it that Frank Sinatra would not dine in a restaurant if this wine was not on the menu. It’s the Bolla Soave Classico. Soave, meaning “sweet” in Italian, has gentle floral and pear flavors. This goes perfectly with a flaky summer fish, it has medium acidity and a nice mineral structure. Garrido recommends it as an alternative to pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc this summer.

For the red wine lover

Even though it’s summer, Garrido hasn’t forgotten red wine lovers. She highly recommends this Poderi Melini Granaio Chianti Classico. She says it’s ideal for warmer temperatures and the acidity will cut down on juicy meats if you’re barbecuing in the backyard. She put the bottle on ice and served it slightly chilled.
