I-84 in Farmington closed due to police operation

FARMINGTON, CT — A section of Interstate 84 in Farmington is closed due to “police activity,” according to the state Department of Transportation.

According to the state, I-84 East was closed between exits 37 and 39 due to “police activity.”

The situation was first reported at 5:18 p.m. and it is “unknown” when it will be resolved.

The incident occurred on the same highway where a police officer was killed by a hit-and-run driver in nearby Southington on Thursday afternoon, but it is unclear if it is related to that matter.
