Police investigate incident in which a Des Plaines man riding a one-wheeler was struck by a car

A 47-year-old Des Plaines man riding a “unicycle” in the 900 block of Wolf Road was injured on Saturday, May 18, when he was struck by a car around 9:12 p.m.

According to Des Plaines police, the man was taken to a local hospital.

According to reports, a vehicle was traveling northbound on Wolf Road in the median. The man, who was riding his unicycle on the sidewalk of Wolf Road northbound, rode down a driveway and “appeared to have fallen off his scooter in the median.” At that point, the vehicle in the median struck the man and then fled the scene.

Police said they are investigating the incident.
