Police have arrested a man in Durham who allegedly robbed a woman at knifepoint.

According to Durham police, the robbery occurred at the Bilboa Mart in the 3600 block of Angier Avenue just after 3 p.m.

According to police, a man entered the store with a knife and demanded money from the clerk. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man, later identified as 39-year-old Lamaris Deon Wiliams of Durham, drove away from the store in a white Toyota Rav4 that had been stolen from the city earlier in the day.

Police said officers located Williams shortly after the robbery and took him into custody. Authorities charged Williams with multiple crimes and jailed him without bail.

Police say Williams is suspected of committing similar offenses in the area and will appear in court on Tuesday.
