Buffalo man pleads guilty to manslaughter in fatal shooting

A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter following a fatal shooting last year in the Kaisertown neighborhood, Acting Erie County Prosecutor Michael J. Keane announced.

Ryan M. Crawford, 23, entered the plea to first-degree manslaughter, a class B violent felony, before State Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens.

He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison when he returns July 1 for sentencing. He continues to be held without bail.

Prosecutors said Crawford used an illegal handgun to shoot Duryll Anderson, 38, in the 800 block of Bailey Avenue, near Dingens Street, around 2:30 a.m. on April 2, 2023. Anderson was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he later died. .
