Birmingham police are investigating shootings in East Lake

An investigation was underway after a person was shot in the East Lake community of Birmingham on Sunday. Birmingham police reported a man was shot in the 6800 block of 1st Avenue North. A WVTM 13 News team saw police and officers and investigators on scene appear to be focusing their attention on a gas station in that area around 7 p.m. BPD said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries. An investigation was underway after a person was shot in Birmingham’s East Lake community on Sunday.

Birmingham police reported a man was shot in the 6800 block of 1st Avenue North.

A WVTM 13 News team saw police on scene around 7 p.m. and officers and investigators appeared to be focusing their attention on a gas station in the area.

BPD said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police said no one was in custody at the time.
