Man arrested in connection with shooting on Rosemary Drive, Jackson, MS

The Jackson Police Department announced Monday afternoon that 29-year-old Walter Howell was arrested in connection with the shooting death of Joshua Lindsey in February.

Howell is charged with murder, according to a JPD news release Monday. According to Hinds County Detention Center records, authorities arrested Howell on July 3, nearly six months after the incident.

On February 16, Jackson Police Department officers began investigating a homicide that occurred near the 3400 block of Rosemary Drive.

Police said the victim, 30-year-old Joshua Lindsey, was shot at the location indicated. Police said Lindsey died at the scene after succumbing to numerous gunshot wounds.

Police had previously stated that residents had reported hearing several gunshots in the area at around 12:30 a.m. on February 16.
