Former Houston Texans WR Jacoby Jones dies at 40

The Houston Texans and the rest of the NFL are mourning the loss of wide receiver Jacoby Jones, who died Sunday at the age of 40, according to KPRC 2 reporter Aaron Wilson.

Jones celebrated his 40th birthday on Thursday and died in his sleep during the night.

Jones played nine seasons in the NFL, including the first five with the Texans, who selected him in the third round of the 2007 draft.

He is probably best known for his first season away from the Texans, when he won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012. Jones became the first player in Super Bowl history to receive a return touchdown in the same game.

He also holds the record for the longest play and longest touchdown in NFL history with 108 yards.

Jones played with the Ravens from 2012 to 2014 and spent the 2015 season with the San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers.
