Buffalo Sabres reveal full schedule: 10 home games you can’t miss

The Buffalo Sabres will begin their season on the road.

The 2024-25 regular season schedule begins Friday, Oct. 4 against the New Jersey Devils in Prague, Czech Republic. The two teams will also play the following day in Prague. The games are part of the NHL Global Series. It’s also an interesting matchup, with new Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff facing the team that fired him last season.

The Czech Republic is also the home of Sabres great Dominik Hasek, so expect to see him.

The first home game, and the first in North America this season, will be on Thursday, October 10 against the Los Angeles Kings. The Sabres will then host the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers on Saturday, October 12.

Other interesting notes:

The Sabres will not play their rivals from Toronto until Sunday, December 15 (away).

The Sabres play at home on Thanksgiving, with 2 games the day before and the day after: Wednesday, November 27th against Minnesota and Black Friday, November 29th against Vancouver. They do not play on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, but do play in Dallas on New Year’s Eve. They play Chicago at home on December 27th for those looking for a good gift. The team is on the road for New Year’s week this year.

32 of their matches take place on a Friday or Saturday.

The first West Coast trip will be Thanksgiving week in November, on the 20th and 23rd against Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Jose. The next one will be, sort of, New Year’s week, with 4 games against St. Louis, Dallas, Colorado and Las Vegas. Plus a Midwest trip, but still. Two weeks later, they’ll play another 4-game West Coast trip from January 28-25 against Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, which now features former Sabres player Jeff Skinner. The final West Coast trip (sort of) will be March 20-23 against Utah, Minnesota and Winnipeg.

The Sabres play in Boston on St. Patrick’s Day, Monday, March 17.
