Teenager shot and killed in Woodbridge

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Virginia (DC News Now) — Prince William County police said a teenager was shot and killed in Woodbridge shortly after midnight Tuesday.

Police said they were called around 12:45 a.m. to a shooting at the Misty Ridge Apartments in the 15,000 block of Lost Canyon Ct.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy shot to death in an outside staircase.

The boy died in the hospital.

During the shooting, an apartment in the complex was also hit by a bullet.

No further injuries or property damage were reported.

Officials said the incident does not appear to be random.
