Investigation into the cause of a 2-alarm house fire in Kaimuki is ongoing

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The cause of an early morning Level 2 house fire in the Kaimuki area is under investigation.

At around 4:40 a.m. a call came in about a structure fire on Sierra Drive.

Ten HFD units and police officers arrived at the scene of the accident.

A video sent to HNN shows large flames and thick smoke engulfing a two-story single-family home.

Officials said there was no one in the house.

The fire was extinguished around 5.30 a.m.

According to HFD, one firefighter was injured and transported to a nearby hospital by Honolulu EMS.

A fire inspector is on site to determine the cause of the fire and quantify the damage.
