Bomb explosions kill at least 18 people in Nigeria

At least 18 people were killed and 48 others injured in bomb explosions in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno, according to the state’s emergency services.

The first explosion occurred at around 3pm local time on Saturday at a wedding ceremony, another at Gwoza General Hospital and a third at a funeral.

The Director General of Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Barkindo Muhammad Saidu, visited the site of the explosion in Gwoza Town.

According to the Borno State Emergency Management Agency-SEMA, the dead include men, women and children.
