New Jersey man arrested after attempted sexual intercourse with child, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

A New Jersey man was arrested after police say he attempted to lure a child and committed sexual assault in two separate incidents.

According to Atlantic City police, officers responded to a call at Kingston and Sunset Avenue on June 22 at around 2:28 p.m. about a 13-year-old girl meeting with a man named Javier Erazo, 21, of Pleasantville.

Officers spoke to the two and learned that they had recently met through social media, police said.

According to police, an investigation by detectives from the Special Victims Unit revealed that Erazo knew the girl’s age and wanted to have a sexual relationship with her.

According to police, Erazo was eventually taken into custody.

During this investigation, police said, investigators learned of another investigation in which Erazo was suspected of inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl in March 2019 at the age of 16.

Police said Erazo made incriminating statements during his interrogation, which led to him being criminally charged in this case as well.

Erazo is charged with attempted luring or seduction of a minor, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 609-347-5766.
