One dead in accident on I-20 at River Watch Parkway

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – One person has died following a fatal accident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen told us the driver was traveling west on I-20 near River Watch Parkway when he lost control of his vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle then hit the central barrier and overturned several times.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 3:10 a.m.

Her identity has not yet been revealed.
