A Mansfield man accused of causing a fatal car crash in 2019 that left a 13-year-old girl dead and two others seriously injured in Pembroke was found guilty on all counts Tuesday afternoon.

Gregory Goodsell was found guilty by a Plymouth Superior Court jury of second-degree murder, intoxicated manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crime. He was also found guilty of two counts of driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily harm.

On Dec. 29, 2019, Goodsell got drunk and high at a company Christmas party before getting behind the wheel of a company truck and driving at speeds up to 95 miles per hour, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

Former Hi-Way Safety Systems employee charged with murder in connection with fatal Pembroke crash

At around 7 a.m., he collided with a Subaru driven by 55-year-old Elizabeth Zisserson on Route 139 in Pembroke. Zisserson’s 13-year-old daughter Claire and her friend, 13-year-old Kendall Zemotel, were in the back seat at the time of the accident.

Claire Zisserson was killed in the collision and Elizabeth and Zemotel were seriously injured.

Goodsell was formerly employed by Hi-Way Safety Systems and was reportedly no stranger to traffic violations. At the time of the crash, Goodsell had a blood alcohol content of .266 and was under the influence of cocaine, according to investigators.

Police also found a bottle of whiskey, a can of beer, two bottles of liquor, marijuana and a pipe in his vehicle.

He will appear in court again next Thursday for the verdict to be announced.
