Bills WR Keon Coleman not chasing ghosts of Buffalo’s past

Bills WR Keon Coleman not chasing ghosts of Buffalo’s past

The Buffalo Bills made several changes at receiver this offseason.

With the exception of Khalil Shakir, who is in his third year, the Bills have made a complete change in their receiving line. Gabe Davis and Trent Sherfield signed elsewhere via free agency, Deonte Harty was released and four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans.

In order to make up for what they lost, the Bills signed players like Curtis Samuel, Chase Claypool and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Their most notable addition, however, came via the NFL Draft, when they selected Florida State receiver Keon Coleman to start in the second round. While Coleman has big shoes to fill, he says he’s not trying to be one of the two players he’s replacing.

“All I have to do is come out and be myself, (and) be who I’m supposed to be,” Coleman told CBS Sports. “Because I’m not Gabe. I’m not Stef. I’m just Keon.”

While the former Seminole lacks NFL experience, he does not lack wisdom and self-awareness.
