A Venice man was arrested for child neglect

VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) – A Venice man was arrested after not allowing the mother of his children and the children to leave the house. According to a court document, Venice police responded to a domestic violence call back in April.

During the call, a woman accused McCaffrey of not allowing her and her children to leave the house. The woman also said McCaffrey did not let the children go to school and failed to properly treat the children when they had medical issues. Investigators say he also installed security cameras in the house to monitor and control her and the children. She also expressed fear for her safety and presented text messages describing the ongoing control she experienced since 2022.

McAffrey is charged with five counts of child neglect with serious bodily harm.
