Appeal after a rider was injured in a car accident

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a horse rider was injured when a vehicle allegedly came too close to him on a road in Stirton, near Skipton.

The person was riding on White Hills Lane near Tarn House Caravan Park at around 12.15pm on Saturday, June 15, when a vehicle overtook them and passed very closely by the horse, police said. The horse then threw the rider to the ground, resulting in an injury.

Police are also asking for the driver of a dark BMW, who kindly stopped and helped the injured driver, to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Anyone with information, as well as the driver of the BMW who stopped and assisted, is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 1224 010 5806.
