This individual is a vital member of our newsroom and will be responsible for coordinating news coverage duties and identifying high-impact stories, as well as contributing story ideas and content for digital, streaming and broadcasting. The candidate must be a good communicator, perform well under pressure and have strong cross-platform and multi-tasking skills. This position requires working closely with managers as well as digital and linear producers and is responsible for effectively communicating and coordinating with journalists and photographers in the field. This candidate must have a working knowledge of information gathering, including how to navigate court documents, quickly gather information, and file public information requests.

What will you do:

This reporter will be a master storyteller capable of identifying, developing, filming, writing, editing, producing and reporting high-quality stories.

This candidate will tell high-impact stories using data and other research tools, and is willing to experiment with new technologies.

Having the ability, experience and willingness to tell sports stories is a plus as this role may include reporting and reporting on weekend sports.

Required Qualifications & SKILLS:

Minimum of 2 years in a major market television news station, with excellent writing, editing, filming, editing and on-air presenting skills, including live reporting & ad lib expertise.

A background check clearance and clean driving record will be required.

Ability to work to deadlines, multi-task, prioritize assignments and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Must be flexible to work any shift (late nights, overnight shifts. Weekends and holidays) and adaptable to change.

We are looking for a respected, knowledgeable and ethical station representative, as well as a team player with a strong social media presence.

Desire to serve the community and talent for quickly cultivating contacts and exclusive story ideas.

Education:

University diploma

Degree in journalism or related field preferred
