Man and woman arrested in Palm Coast after road rage incident

Gregg Pacheco, 53, and Amy Pacheco, 46, were arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill in connection with a June 11 incident.

PALM COAST, Fla. – A Palm Coast man and woman were arrested Tuesday following a road rage incident. According to Flagler County sheriff’s officials, the suspects pointed weapons at a pickup truck while riding a motorcycle.

Gregg Pacheco, 53, and Amy Pacheco, 46, were arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. Gregg Pacheco was on probation for a previous reckless driving conviction and was additionally charged with violating probation, the sheriff’s office said.

According to a press release, officers responded to Palm Coast Parkway at approximately 5:35 p.m. on June 11. Officers received a call about a man riding a motorcycle westbound across the Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge pointing a firearm at the victim. A female passenger on the motorcycle brandished a baton. The victim reported the man smashed his side window.

The suspects allegedly threatened to kill the victim, the sheriff’s office said.

Officers determined the motorcycle was registered to the Pacheco family. They went to their Palm Coast residence, where they saw the motorcycle in the garage. Numerous attempts to reach them were unsuccessful, police said. A search warrant was issued for the home and two firearms were found: a Glock 27 .40 caliber and a Glock 43X 9 mm.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to the hospital, the sheriff’s office said. When investigators questioned both suspects, “they confessed to various elements of the incident,” officials said.

“The victim in this situation did the right thing by reporting the incident and letting our officers handle this dangerous situation. Drivers need to remember to control their anger and behavior. Road rage only leads to the Green Roof Inn, especially when a weapon is involved,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. “Irresponsible and angry drivers have no place in Flagler County. Hopefully they will take our anger management class in jail or be required by the court to do so.”
