NFTA Parks Adventure Bus returns for third year

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) announced the return of the Parks Adventure Bus, which offers free rides every Saturday to local parks and beaches in Western New York.

The bus will serve a number of area parks including Chestnut Ridge Park, Fort Niagara State Park, Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve, Como Lake Park, Beaver Island State Park, Akron Falls Park, Evangola State Park and Emery County Park.

Service will begin June 8 and every Saturday through August 3, with a possible make-up day on Saturday, August 17, departing from the Downtown Buffalo Bus Station (181 Ellicott Street).

“Last year, NFTA saw a 22% increase in usage of its Park Adventure Bus compared to 2022, and I am proud that the service will return this year to serve members of our community who otherwise would not have may not otherwise have access to our beautiful county parks. ” said April NM Baskin, Speaker of the Erie County Legislature. “Our parks should be accessible to all members of our community, and intentional steps like the one the NFTA is taking with the Park Adventure Bus service to ensure accessibility exist.”
