Troy man arrested after burglary investigation

BRUNSWICK, NY (NEWS10) — A Troy man was arrested following several burglary investigations, New York State Police said. Michael Monge, 40, faces a number of charges in connection with those incidents.

This arrest and charges are the result of a series of investigations in March and April. All incidents occurred in the City of Brunswick.

Police reported that on March 11, they received a report of a break-in at a business on Hoosick Road. It is alleged that Monge entered the business, caused property damage and broke in the night before.

Also on March 11, police responded to Aldi in Brunswick where a previous theft had been reported. Police said their investigation revealed that Monge had entered the store the night before and stolen merchandise.

It is alleged that on March 14 and April 15, Monge entered the Walmart in Brunswick and attempted to destroy several anti-theft devices. He was allegedly unsuccessful, but the devices were damaged.

Police said they received a report that a business on Hoosick Road had been burglarized on April 27. Monge allegedly entered the building early that morning, damaged it and attempted to break into the business.

Monge was being held at the Albany County Correctional Facility on similar but unrelated charges when he was transported to the State Police for processing of the above charges. He was arraigned in Brunswick Municipal Court and returned to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
