Primrose Schools Collaborates with Emory Healthcare to Complete .5 Million Early Childhood Education Project in Atlanta

Emory Healthcare employees, Emory University employees and Atlanta residents will soon have a new option for quality early education and care with Emory Healthcare’s Primrose School – Northlake Campus, scheduled to open in summer 2024.

Construction of the new school began in January and will accommodate more than 175 children. The Employer Sponsored School is a collaborative effort with Primrose on Premise® division of early childhood education leader Primrose Schools.

Motivated by the goal of supporting working employees and meeting the high demand for child care in the Northlake community, Rock Anderson, Emory Healthcare’s director of human resources, said his employees are at heart of its success. “Our strong culture and commitment to our employees are top priorities. By providing access to premier early education and child care services, we believe this service will help employees working and living near Emory Healthcare’s Northlake campus and beyond,” said Anderson.

The balanced, STEM-based, research-informed learning program at Primrose Schools harnesses children’s natural learning processes by combining focused play with stimulating guidance from teachers.

At nearly 13,000 square feet, the school will include 11 classrooms as well as safe, age-appropriate playgrounds and equipment. It is part of a mixed-use development in the Northlake Shopping Center and will contribute approximately $3.5 million to the local economy and 45 jobs once at full capacity. The school is actively recruiting for teaching and staff positions.

At Primrose schools, everything in the classroom, including toys, books and even furniture, is deliberately selected to be developmentally appropriate for each age.

Registration for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, as well as after-school care for school-age children, is now open on the Northlake campus. Emory Healthcare employees and Emory University employees are eligible for subsidized tuition based on their income when they enroll their children at this location only.
