Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, which occurred shortly after 11 am between Turiganj and Raghunathpur railway stations.

“Yes, the coupling of the Magadh Express has broken and the train has split into two parts. A rescue team as well as technical teams are at the spot and the officials are trying to resolve the issue as soon as possible. An investigation is being launched to find out the exact cause,” East Central Railway Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) Sharswati Chandra told PTI.

According to HT’s sister publication Live HindustanThe Islampur-bound Magadh Express left Dumraon station at 10:58 a.m. A few minutes later, the clutch of coach S-7 broke near Turiganj.

This resulted in the S7 compartment and the AC coaches continuing to move while the coaches behind the S-7 came to a halt. When the train driver noticed this, he stopped the train.

The incident triggered panic among passengers who initially thought that the Magadh Express had derailed, Live Hindustan reported.

Train services on the Down Line have been suspended.

In August, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, under fire about the increasing number of railway accidents and the current state of railway transport, went on the offensive against the opposition because of the minister’s criticism.

The bureaucrat-turned-politician accused the Congress party of spreading “false information” on social media and thus creating “unnecessary fear” among the “millions of passengers”.

“Is this how this country is being governed? The Congress is spreading false things on social media with the help of its troll army. Are they trying to instill fear in the 20 million people who travel by rail every day?” he asked the opposition members in the Lok Sabha.
