Three South Shore men arrested in connection with armed robbery of courier

Three South Shore men were arrested Wednesday in connection with the armed robbery of a courier who was carrying nearly half a million dollars in cash.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 38-year-old Steven Madison of Bridgewater, 37-year-old Christopher White of Raynham and 35-year-old Quentin McDonald of Brockton are charged with robbery, interfering with highway trafficking, arson and conspiracy. Madison and McDonald are also charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

Authorities say two of the suspects stole a rental van in Abington on Feb. 19. They are then accused of driving to Swansea, confronting a courier transporting cash from a cannabis company and robbing him at gunpoint.

The suspects allegedly tied up the courier, forced him into his own car and sprayed him with pepper spray. Surveillance video shows the courier freeing one hand, drawing his gun and firing several shots at the suspect’s fleeing van.

Two of the suspects encountered a third suspect nearby in an SUV and all three drove off with the cash. They are accused of setting the stolen van on fire before escaping.

During an investigation, evidence related to the robbery was allegedly found at the homes of Madison and White.

All three suspects are being held without bail and will appear in court on Monday.
