Man killed in South Shore shootout

A man died in a shootout in South Shore on Saturday evening.

The 25-year-old was walking on railroad tracks near the 1700 block of East 71st Street around 8:50 p.m. when two people approached him and fired shots at him, Chicago police said.

The man suffered numerous gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said.

No arrests were reported.
