Houston man faces two criminal charges following alleged child abuse incident

A Houston man faces two criminal charges following an investigation into an alleged child abuse incident on Monday, June 17, authorities said.

According to court documents, Rustin Miller, born in 1977, left a 1-year-old foster child in a vehicle with the engine turned off for about two hours. The child was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital before being transported to St. Louis Children’s Hospital with complications.

Miller, who went to the hospital with the child, was arrested Wednesday, June 26, at Children’s Hospital and transported to the Texas County Jail.

The Texas County Prosecutor charged Miller with crimes of child abuse or neglect (Class B) and endangering the welfare of a child (Class B).

Bail is set at $2,000 cash only.
