mikemcguff.com: KISS Kasket Houston connection

The KISS Kasket made a lot of noise when it was discovered over 20 years ago, but did you know there is a connection between Houston and this band’s ultimate fan gear?

Pat Fant, the founding father of 101 KLOL, a Galveston native and UH graduate, not only signed to the legendary Houston rock station, but also created the KISS Kasket.

Fant appeared on the KISS podcast “Three Sides of the Coin” with hosts Michael Brandvold, Tommy Sommers and Mark Cicchini to discuss how he unearthed the idea for the KISS Kasket as well as his relationship with the singer/bassist Gene Simmons.

You can watch Fant in the documentary “Runaway Radio,” now streaming on TUBI and available on DVD. Also starring Dusty Hill (ZZ Top), Lyle Lovett, Sammy Hagar, Melissa Etheridge, Doug Pinnick and Carmine Appice.
