1 dead after shooting near a park in Maywood

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday in Maywood.

The incident was reported around 7:30 p.m., and officers were dispatched to the 4800 block of East 58th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

When they arrived, they found a man dead at the scene with at least one gunshot wound. His identity has not yet been released.

SkyCal flew over the shooting scene near the Southwest Rio Vista YMCA, where several patrol cars cordoned off a large area near a parking lot.

No information was given about the suspect or the motive for the shooting.
