Cambridge Police seek video footage from public following report of armed sexual assault by masked man

Police in Cambridge, Massachusetts, are asking the public for video assistance in investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred last Friday. Cambridge police responded to the Cambridgepark Drive area around 9:20 p.m. on Friday after receiving a report of an assault in progress. According to police, the victim told officers that he was attacked by a masked man armed with a knife. “As part of the investigation, investigators are looking to see if any members of the public captured video that could assist them,” Cambridge police said Thursday. Police are asking anyone with home surveillance devices, cell phones or dashboard cameras that recorded the Cambridgepark Drive area between 5 p.m. and midnight on Friday, May 17, to contact them. Cambridge police are asking anyone with information to contact their Crime Stoppers by calling the anonymous tip line at 617-349-9151 or submit a tip online by clicking here. Cambridge detectives investigated a crime scene in the restroom of the commercial building and worked with Massachusetts State Police investigators to identify and search for a suspect. As an additional precaution, Cambridge Police have continued to deploy additional patrols to the Cambridgepark Drive area.

Cambridge police responded to the Cambridgepark Drive area around 9:20 p.m. on Friday after receiving a report of an assault in progress. According to police, the victim told officers they were attacked by a masked man armed with a knife.

“As part of the investigation, detectives are checking to see if anyone in the public has taken videos that could assist them,” Cambridge police said on Thursday.

Police are asking anyone with home surveillance, cellphone or dashboard camera footage of the Cambridgepark Drive area between 5pm and midnight on Friday, May 17, to come forward.
